South Korean brand Kia have revealed the first official images of the all-new 2016 Kia Optima ahead of its public debut at next week’s New York Motor Show.
Kia have come up with a fresh new design for the next generation Optima. The front styling is fairly similar to Kia’s Sportspace Concept from this month’s Geneva Motor Show. It features the brand’s ‘Tiger Nose’ grille together with the more prominently designed lower air vents. Kia is showcasing a smart and sportier new face of Optima for the executive saloon market.
According to the very limited information provided by Kia, the new 2016 Optima will be offered with a revised version of the 1.7 CRDi engine along with a new hybrid power train with the same unit at a later date. Kia have already launched their first electric vehicle with the Soul EV, which has already impressed the automotive world with its performance.
The new Optima has an improved interior with leather seats, windscreen display and a leather wrapped dashboard. The Optima will face strong rivals like the new Ford Mondeo, Volkswagen Passat and Vauxhall Insignia when it launches in 2016.
The new Optima is more spacious than ever before. It is expected to have more advanced safety and driver assistance features. The car hasn’t been crash-tested by EuroNCAP yet but we expect it to perform well.
“Kia has very strong plans for 2015 to sell more products in all ranges. Kia have revealed the face lifted models of the Rio and Venga. Plus the new seven-seater Sorento is a great example of the brand; taking a further step from the budget value brand to a respectable family brand with the seven year- 100,000 mileage warranty as standard.”
The new Optima is going to make its public debut at the New York Motor Show and more information should be announced around then.
