The new Hyundai i20 is the latest arrival in the competitive supermini sector that offers sharp new exterior looks and a spacious interior that you can get from just £10,695. The company claims it will retain more of its value than most of its supermini rivals – Ford Fiesta, VW Polo, Renault Clio and new Corsa.
The i20 starts its range with 1.2 S model and the experts expect to retain some 46% of its original price after three years and 30,000 miles. Impressive values on the used market means it will cost less for private buyers to run.
The new i20 offered in six trim levels – entry level S, S Air, S Blue, SE, Premium and Premium SE with a choice of four engines both petrol and diesel. The petrol engine units compromises a 1.2 litre 84PS or 1.4 litre 100PS and choice of 1.1 litre with 75PS or 1.4 litre 90PS diesel engines.
The range is well-equipped with the SE models on-wards, benefiting from lane departure warning, leather wrapped steering wheel, reversing sensors, removable boot floor, cruise control, speed limiter and voice activated Bluetooth connectivity, where the Premium models comes with Smartphone docking, auto tyre pressure monitoring system, rear speakers, privacy glass and cornering lights.
The interior of the i20 is immense and feels like it’s the biggest of all its rivals and there is certainly enough room for the family. The i20 also offers impressive boot space of 295 litres which is bigger than what you get in Vauxhall Corsa (285 litres space) and Ford Fiesta (276 litres space), plus you can expand the boot space up to 1,060 litres by folding rear seats down.
