The Most Powerful Mini three-door John Cooper Works revealed

With authentic race feeling and Mini’s premium characteristics, the new Mini three-door John Cooper Works is to be called “the most powerful Mini ever” with 228bhp, accelerates 0-62 mph in just 6.1 seconds and priced from £22,865.

The Most powerful Mini ever

Mini is coming back to the performance market with a JCW (John Cooper Works) version of its latest three-door hatch(Cooper S), revealed for the first time ahead of Detroit Motor Show. With 2.0 litre turbocharged 228bhp engine, produces 10 percent more power than predecessor and 23 percent more torque at 320Nm. It takes you 0-62mph in just 6.3 seconds with the six speed manual gearbox and 6.1 seconds with automatic transmission.

The new Mini Cooper S JCW model is 53mm longer than predecessor with the same amount of width(1,727mm), height(1,414mm) and wheelbase(2,495mm). There is a specific JCW- specific rear bumper, side sills, twin tailpipes, roof spoiler and large cooling air-inlets. The 18 inch JCW Race spoke lightweight alloy wheels comes as optional, 17 inch come as standard

Getting inside, Mini JCW gets sporty flair with new sporty bucket seats finished in a quilted Dynamic fabric, multifunctional steering wheel while the stainless steel pedals, cockpit displays, instrument displays and key fob are all designed for the range-topping model.

The new Mini Cooper S John Cooper Works model fitted with multiple airbags, three point automatic belts , ISOFix child seat, tyre pressure control as standard. While buyers can get the high end optional driver assist and safety features such as – park distance control, rear view camera, parking assist, active cruise control and many more.

In terms of fuel consumption & running costs, the JCW model returns claimed 42.2mpg and 155g/km with six speed manual gearbox and 49.5mpg and 133g/km co2 with the automatic transmission.

Despite the recent introduction of a new five door variant of the Cooper S, Mini has no immediate plan to introduce JCW version of it.

The new Mini three-door Cooper S JCW(John Cooper Works) model, price starts from £22,865 with first deliveries to be made in late April 2015.
