Peugeot adds sporting GT Line specification to 308 range

The French auto-maker, Peugeot have unveiled a new sporting GT line trim to its award winning 308 range; available in both hatchback and estate body styles.

Peugeot is taking a step in the right direction in the hopes of grabbing sales from cars like – Ford Focus, VW Golf and Seat Leon. The GT line models of Peugeot 308 have gone on sale in the UK, as both hatchbacks and estates, featuring revised styling, bespoke chassis, lower ride height and powerful EU6 emission standard engines.

We would like to mention the new Peugeot 308 is an award-winning family hatchback car with a focus on comfort, quality and impressive fuel efficiency.

Sporty styling –

Peugeot 308 GT - Hatchback and EstateOn the 308 hatchback and 308 SW, the line drops down from the bonnet into a new grille that now gets three horizontal bars, full LED headlamps, sequential direction indicators, taillights and fog lamps along with the black diffuser with integrated exhaust finishers. Even 18 inch ‘Diamant’ wheels are also available, albeit as an optional extra.

There are model specific wheels and twin tailpipe finishers, whilst the 308 Estate GT version gets additional privacy glass and a panoramic roof.

Peugeot 308 GT - I-CockpitThere are plenty of stylish embellishments inside, with red-stitching on the part-leather seats, the mats and the gear level gaiter. The steering wheel, door cards, dashboard and the Red-line seven inch touch screen also feature a fabulous touch of red sophistication.The ‘Driver Sport Pack’ is also available, though only on specific engine types. The ‘Gadgetry’ includes a reversing camera, blind-spot sensors, keyless entry and colour head-up display. As a cherry on the cake, the top of the range trims can have front seats with a massage function!

The ‘Driver Assistance Pack’ includes dynamic cruise control, emergency collision alert system and emergency collision braking system. Blind spot monitoring is also available with park assist which automatically parks in parallel or bay spaces.

Powerful engines

Peugeot 308 GT rear viewThe hatchback version of the 308 GT line is available with a choice of petrol or diesel engines whilst the SW (estate) version is only available with a diesel engine.

The 1.6 litre, four-cylinder petrol engine comes with an auto start & stop function, that delivers 285 Newton metre of torque available between 1,750 and 4,500 revs per minute enabling drivers to reach 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 7.5 seconds and it has a top speed of 146 miles per hour. The official fuel consumption figure reported is 50.4 miles per gallon. and 130 grams/kilometre carbon dioxide emissions.

The 2.0 litre four-cylinder diesel engine is partnered with an Efficient Automatic Transmission six-speed gearbox. The hatchback version has a 0-62miles per hour speed of 8.4 seconds (SW model 8.6 seconds), has a top speed of 136 miles per hour (SW model 135miles per hour), carbon dioxide emissions of 103 grams/kilometre (SW model 107 grams/kilometre) and an official combined fuel efficiency of 70.6 miles per gallon. (SW model 68.8 miles per gallon).

The Peugeot 308 GT Hatchback and Estate are now on sale, prices start from £24,095 with the first deliveries to be expected in March 2015.
