Nissan Qashqai range gets new powerful petrol engine

Nissan is expanding its award winning Qashqai range with the addition of new advanced 1.6 litre turbocharged petrol engine.

The new DIG-T 161bhp engine features with latest turbocharger set up and other fuel saving tech like start and stop to help it comply with EU6 emissions regulations. The new engine develops 163PS(120kw) of power at 5,600rpm and 240Nm of torque between 2,000 and 4,000rpm. The new engine designed to maximise performance and economy. The new DIG-T engine is equipped with start and stop ignition system to deliver the smooth, responsive and high quality driving experience.

The new engine accelerates 0-62mph in just 9.1 seconds has a top speed of 124mph.

As with all engines in the new Qashqai range, the new DIG-T 163 is equipped with Start/Stop ignition system and delivers the kind of smooth, responsive and high quality driving experience that Nissan customers have come to expect. Acceleration from 0-62mph can be achieved in just 9.1 seconds – making it the fastest Qashqai in the range – while top speed is rated at 124mph. The engine economy figures are quite impressive offers 48.7mpg and emits 134g/km co2 emissions.

The new engine joins with new DIG-T 163 power plant joins with existing 1.2 DIG-T unit. The new engine comes with standard start/stop, that packed with fuel saving technologies, including a regenerative alternator, optimised gear ratios and special low-viscosity oils.

 The new 1.6 litre engine fitted comes with manual transmission and if you are looking for petrol automatic transmission engine than you have to go choose 1.2 DIG-T unit has been engineered to deliver a smoother, more natural driving experience.

The new engine is available on higher range models including N-Tec, N-Tec+ and Tekna.
