Audi has unveiled the new second generation Q7, features more efficient, lightweight and small body style.
Ohhh…. New Audi Q7 has lost a whole 325kg weight and become more sleeker and stylist than ever before. The German brand is set to debut the new Q7 in the next month’s Detroit motor show.
The Audi Q7 improves everything including visual heft, style, interior updates, light weight construct and lower emission engines. The overall weights reduced by up to 325kg and four ring brand claimed to be up to 26% more efficient than before.
Style and design of new Audi Q7
The new Audi Q7 marks a fresh styling direction for all Audi SUVs that highlights the most single frame grille, finished in silver on the S line model. The Q7 has got lower and slimmer LED headlights and its larger air intakes underneath giving the more aggressive and bold look.
The new Q7 is 37mm shorter and 155mm narrower compare to predecessor. The horizontal lines extended above the wheels and the exterior mirrors are mounted on the shoulders of the doors. The Quattro four wheel drive TFSI model continue the modern and architectural theme with perfectly regular windscreen, blocky taillight clusters and squared-off twin tailpipes.
The Q7 is based on Audi’s new MLB2 platform where up to 41 percent aluminium used and weighs up to 325kg less than its predecessor.
Inside the new Audi Q7
The new Q7 claims to offer more headroom, legroom and shoulder room than its predecessor. The space concept is highly variable with adjustable second row seatbacks can be moved longitudinally up to 110mm, 10 mm before than before.

With UK’s launch, the all Q7 will be powered by Euro 6 emission standard 3.0 litre 270bhp V6 engine offers up to 47.8mpg and CO2 of 153g/km. It takes you 0-62mph in just 6.3 seconds and has a top speed of 146mph.
A lower-powered 215bhp engine will arrive in UK later in the year, along with plug-in hybrid Q7 e-tron Quattro.
The hybrid engine will feature with the same 3.0 litre 256bhp V6 TDI engine along with electric motor for a total system output of 370bhp offers around 166 mpg and emits just 50g/km CO2. It accelerates from 0-62mph in just 6.1 seconds and has a top speed of 139mph. All models will get four wheel drive and an eight speed automatic gearbox as standard.
The Q7 gets new electromechanical steering and the option of all-wheel-steering where the rear wheels will turn inward by as much as five degrees to enhance vehicle stability.
