New Lexus GS F saloon rolled into North American International Show yesterday with four doors, room for five adults and lots of attitude.
Toyota’s luxury brand Lexus can’t get enough of it F performance line, and now adding a hot performance midsized sedan to the complement coupe called rival of BMW M3 and BMW 5 Series. A great looking car designed to attract young drivers and dressed up with more aggressive styling and touches to give it a younger feel.
It rides lower than the other GS models, with big 19 inch alloy wheels and clever carbon-fibre spoiler, while the cabin features far more aggressive sport seats and stylist upmarket upholstery. It also gets F-specific steering wheel, additional lateral support, a 12.3 inch touch screen display infotainment system with optional 17 speaker Mark Levinson sound system.
What about power?
The new GS F is great looking car that uses the same engine as the RC F Coupe, a 5 litre V8 engine produces 527Nm torque and spits out 467 horsepower. It mated with eight speed automatic gearbox with paddle shifters and has four different driving models – Normal, Eco, Sport and Sport S+.
The Sport S+ driving model useful for driving performance enthusiasts who take their car to the track to put it through it paces.
Apart from all the sport and luxury feeling, the GS F comes with all the modern safety features are – pre collision system with automatic braking, pedestrian detection, radar cruise control, lane keep assist, automatic high beam, and blind spot monitoring with rear cross traffic alert.
I think, Lexus is now concentrating and hoping to build F brand further with RC F coupe and new GS F sedan.
The new Lexus GS F arrives late this year, and pricing will be announced later on along with full specification details.
