The Jeep Renegade is the smallest car in the brand’s range bringing old brand values in a new smaller package.
Design and Styling:
Designed in the US and built in Italy; the Jeep Renegade brings traditional value to a new style! The Renegade is characterised as a fun and cheerful small sports utility vehicle featuring tonnes of nifty Jeep touches, a removable My Sky roof and loads more clever design elements that we’ve never seen before in Jeep cars.
At 4.2 metres long the Renegade SUV is based on a heavily adapted Fiat supermini platform and is being manufactured in Italy alongside the forthcoming Fiat 500X. Its boxy design looks like similar to the Kia Soul. It features a gorgeous seven slot nose, squared off wheel arches and bulbous tail lights.
Its wide and boxy shape with wide opening doors allow passengers to get in and out of the vehicle easily. The boot capacity is 315 litres with the seats up and a whopping 1,297 litres with the seats folded down. Its huge boot opening also makes it easy to load large items.
In terms of safety, Jeep have ensured the Renegade is perfectly safe and has achieved a five star Euro Ncap safety rating which is the highest any vehicle can obtain. The car features a long list of both standard and optional safety features including six airbags, stability control, and tyre pressure monitoring system.
The Jeep Renegade offers plenty of engine choices for buyers including a 1.4 or 1.6 litre Multiair petrol engine and a 1.6 or 2.0 litre Multijet turbo diesel engine. There is also a choice between a six speed manual or a nine speed automatic transmission or a dual clutch six speed gearbox with a choice of two or four wheel drive.
Its 1.6 litre diesel engine is seriously impressive; offering a fuel economy of 61.4 miles per gallon and CO2 emissions of 120 grams per kilometre. It has a top speed of 111 miles per hour and accelerates from 0 to 62 miles in 10.2 seconds.
Both 1.4 and 1.6 litre petrol engines are capable of achieving at least a 47.1 miles per gallon fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions of around 140 grams per kilometre.
To conclude the above points; the Jeep Renegade is cheap to run for an incredibly strong off-roader!
The Jeep Renegade is available in a range of trims: Sport, Longitude, Limited and Trailhawk.
- The Sport is the entry level and comes with plenty of standard features including a 5 inch touch screen with DAB radio, 16 inch aluminium wheels, Bluetooth, air conditioning, tyre pressure sensors, all-speed traction control and stability control.
- The Longitude trim adds satellite navigation, front fog lamps, a speed limiter, leather wrapped steering wheel and a six speaker audio system.
- The Limited edition model benefits from a larger 7.5 inch TFT (thin film transistor) display, heated front seats and steering wheel, larger 18 alloy wheels, privacy glass, parking sensors and dual zone climate control.
- The Trailhawk is the off-road version which feels even more rugged with carpet mats swapped for rubber flooring.
