The facelifted 2016 BMW 7 Series has not arrived yet on the UK market, however BMW has given the highlights of its innovative technology that its bringing with the new 7 Series Saloon.
As we all know, BMW is known for its luxurious and powerful models, and always brings some new things that we don’t see anywhere else.
Let’s see the new features of the 2016 BMW 7 Series Saloon:
1) 2016 7 Series has reduce weight by up to 130 kilograms
BMW has reduced the weight of the 7 Series by up to 130 kilograms (287 lbs) thanks to the carbon core technology which is the heart of the 7 series. BMW has used the intelligent lightweight carbon core material in all-new 7 Series vehicles which helps to reduce the weight and improves efficiency. Carbon fibre is very light and rigid and saves up to 50% weight over conventional materials, while it also improves rigidity.
2) A new petrol engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo technology
The 2016 7 Series will also benefit from a new six cylinder Turbocharged petrol engine.It has also had enhanced handling performance as well as an electromechanically-driven Dynamic Drive roll stabilization system. BMW says, the new engine will bring some noticeable more exuberant character on the road, combined with significantly lower fuel consumption and low CO2 emissions compared with the current 7 Series saloon models.
3) Remote Control Parking
Remote control parking is the new and innovative feature that we will first time to 7 series vehicles. To use this feature, all you need is the key. This is a BMW display key, and its a remote control and LED control screen in one. It operates various functions and supplies you with useful information. Using the key, you can pull in and out the car by itself without getting inside the car. You will also able to park your car in a tight space. BMW says, the 7 Series brings a new way for the driver to communicate with the car. BMW will be offering the gesture control on the 7 Series where the touch screen comes with navigation with an all new level of voice command that will be better and more effective to improve functionality.
4) Innovative driver assistance systems
The 7 Series brings a new strings of the driver assistance plus and driver assistant systems that includes the steering and directional control assist, lane departure warning assistant with active side collision protection, a rear collision prevention and cross traffic warning functions. A cruise control system comes with ‘stop and go’ function and with a press of a button now suffices to acknowledge speed restriction detected by the speed limit info function.
