Engines :

Honda CR-V driving

The Honda CR-V does a good job finds good traction, grip and braking stability in wet weather. The CR-V is available in three choices of engines where two of them are diesel and one is petrol as described below –

  • Honda CR-V petrol engine –

The 2.0 litre petrol engine features variable valve timing and lift control. Its gives fuel efficiency at lower rpm and optimised output at high engine rpm. But it’s hard to recommend due to low fuel efficiency of 39.2mpg. Accelerates 0-62mph in just 10.2 seconds and has a top speed of 118mph.

  • Honda CR-V diesel engines –

The entry level 1.6 litre diesel engine is very powerful and offers great fuel efficiency of 62.8 mpg and cO2 of 119g/km without compromising on performance. The engine is available on two wheel drive manual gearbox.

The 2.2 litre diesel engine is even more powerful and ideal for extra tow and performance, going from 0-62mph in just 9.7 seconds.

Overall, we would recommend to choose the diesel engine as delivers an outstanding driving experience and great fuel efficiency with the agility of the saloon.

Practicality & Reliability :

“Honda CR-V is one of the most practical cars in the compact SUV class and has excellent reputation too.”

Honda has built up a great reputation for build quality and reliability that matches the German brand such as Audi, BMW and Mercedes. The interior might not have that standard but its quality and upmarket feeling cannot be neglectable.
