This year’s Goodwood theme Full Throttle – The Endless Pursuit Of Power is a celebration of BMW’s centenary, and it’s promising to be as exciting as previous years. Notable drivers including, F1 drivers Jenson Button, Mark Webber and Sir Sterling Moss, Le Mans winners Richard Attwood and Derek Bell, British Touring Car Champions Gordon Shedden, Matt Neal and Andrew Jordan, will attending the prestigious celebration of cars. While Troy Corser, Eddie Lawson and Giacomo Agostini will fly the chequered flag for bike riders.
As tribute to BMW’s centenary the statue outside Goodwood House will incorporate the BMW 328 Mille Miglia Roadster, the Brabham-BMW BT52, and the Le Mans winning BMW V12 LMR. The BMW M4 GTS will make its UK début at the show, while a vintage 1957 BMW 507, and 1940 BMW 328 Touring Coupé will be heading up the hill.
The event will also highlight other anniversaries including the 50th anniversaries of the Can-Am Series and Sir Jack Brabham’s FI World Championship win, the 40th anniversary of James Hunt’s F1 Championship, and the centenary of the Indianapolis 500.
Brabham will be honoured at the annual Revival Tribute dinner, as the driver raced and tested frequently at Goodwood throughout his career. Several championship-winning cars were perfected at the Goodwood Motor Circuit, and they’re expected to be at the festival too.
Scheduled for June 23rd-26th, the event will be held, as per usual, at the Goodwood estate, West Sussex.
