Ford has made several updates to its seven-seater Galaxy with more refined styling and more technology upgrades.
The Ford Galaxy is a seven-seater multi-purpose vehicle. Ford has released some details of the new Ford Galaxy ahead of its full debut.
The facelifted model features even more headroom and legroom for the second and third row passengers. The car has plenty of storage bins and cup holders with easy access to all passengers.
The video footage released ahead of its full debut shows illusionist Darcy Oake introducing a group of willing test subjects to the concept of first-class road travel. Take a look the video here:
The new facelifted 2015 Galaxy will be offered with a wide range of petrol and diesel engines. There is a new 2.0 litre TDCI Bi-turbo diesel 208 brake horse power engine which will be particularly responsive, especially when accelerating from low speeds.
Ford’s enhanced 2.0 litre TDCi diesel engine will be offered with 120 Pferdestärke, 150 Pferdestärke and 180 Pferdestärke outputs, each using new technology to reduce CO2 emissions.
Buyers will have a choice of either a 158 brake horse power engine with a 1.5 litre EcoBoost or a 2.0 litre 248 brake horse power EcoBoost four-cylinder turbo engine.
All the engines uses a smart regenerative charging system, which charges the car’s battery when braking and coasting. The automatic start-and-stop engine option is available which cuts the car’s engine when it is stationary.
Practicality for family life:
Under the boot floor lies a cargo management system, which offers an additional 20 litres of space and helps to accommodate taller items easily.
Ford says the new Galaxy is a more comfortable vehicle to travel in all around. The car is fitted with a self-levelling rear suspension which maintains the correct ride height for relaxing driving!
Equipment and Safety:
The new Ford Galaxy will be fitted with the advanced air conditioning system from the new Ford Mondeo, which is designed to provide more airflow whilst reaching lower temperatures with less noise output.
The car is fitted with various new safety and convenience features including Ford’s adaptive front lightning system, a front split view camera and an active parking system that can automatically reverse into a parking bay. The Galaxy also features Ford’s “Intelligent Speed Limiter” that automatically lowers speeds to the road speed limit sign.
The new Galaxy will benefit from a 10 inch digital display screen which will have control over the car’s functions like the Ford SYNC 2 voice control.
Prices and Release Date
Pricing and release details will be announced at a later date. However, we expect the new Galaxy to arrive in the UK market towards the end of the year.
