New Audi A3 Sportback e-tron, Jeep Renegade have achieved maximum five star Euro NCAP crash safety ratings where Kia Soul and EV falls short and scored four stars.
Recently we gave you the details of Mondeo, Lexus NX that has achieved five star crash safety ratings where Corsa, Mini falls down and now we have the latest safety assessment result of the year.
American top SUV maker, Jeep Renegade and the premium German Auto manufacturer Jeep Rengade has achieved five star where South Korean gets little behind and scored four stars.
Jeep Renegade has become the top star amongst the list below by achieving good scores in all the categories. However the pedestrian protection could achieve a better score if it has soft windscreen pillars.
The Renegade is the compact crossover that has full of style, powerful 2.4 litre engine promises real off-road capability, goes on sale early 2015.
Audi A3 Sportback e-tron
Audi A3 Sportback e-tron is the plug-in petrol electric hybrid version of the regular A3 Sportback, offering up to 176.6 mpg and just 37g/km CO2.
Audi A3 Sportback e-tron has earned maximum top marks in the children and adult protection in a front, side and rear collision. A3 Sportback e-tron comes with front and active lane assist that fulfilled the latest Euro NCAP driver assist system category. It comes with collision brake assist as standard to reduce the risk of skidding and danger of following collision.
In case of Kia Soul , Euro NCAP commented that the car offered with weak chest protection in the side pole test; however Kia ensures that the performance has been improved on cars from early production and planned to install the side airbags in earlier vehicles. Safety assessor Euro NCAP also said the protection against whiplash injuries in collision was rated good for front and rear seat occupants.
Kia has achieved maximum scored points in child occupant and low in safety assist due to absence of lane assist system and autonomous emergency braking.
Kia Soul EV
Following the fuel version of Kia Soul, the South Korean brand has recently announced the electric version of Kia Soul which has gained 9% more percent in adult occupant test however Euro NCAP noted the same weak protection for the chest area. But point to note that, Kia Soul EV scored maximum points with good protection of all critical body areas.
No advanced safety such as lane departure warning or city emergency braking pulling down the Kia Soul EV’s overall rating. Soul EV has achieved higher score than the Tesla Model S in terms of child and adult protection.

Besides from the crash safety tests, Euro NCAP has announced that the BMW is the winner of “Euro NCAP Advanced Rewards 2014” for the pedestrian warning with city brake activation system to warns driver to avoid danger of a collision with a pedestrian.
