It isn’t possible for you to buy a Ford GT Supercar yet, and the odds are you probably never will, but if you want to get your hands on one you have until 12th May to submit your application. One week after Ford launched its online system it received 7,000 applications. After 12th May Ford’s mystery panel will vet the applications and select the lucky people, with only 500 Gt’s being built in the first 2 years of production the probability of actually owning one is low, however, if you don’t apply you’ll never know!
Constructed with carbon-fibre the GT will have a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic, manual versions won’t be available, with a punch packing mid-engine twin-turbo 3.5 litre V-6 engine. Configurations enable you to custom-build, adding your preferred options, however, you have to do this as part of your application. Of the 7,000 applications so far Liquid Blue is the most popular colour choice, which comes as no real surprise since this was the colour that showcased at the car’s début at the 2015 Detroit auto show. Matte Black was the second most popular colour choice.
Before you apply you should be aware that this GT Supercar will cost approximately $450,000 and you’ll have to give your case as to why you think you should be chosen to join the elite Ford GT owners group.
