Confirmed – New Ford Focus RS is coming !

Ford is launching an all-new third generation Ford Focus RS that expected to be at the Detroit Motor Show next month.

The RS version of Focus coming back to the Ford line up for the first time since 2009. Timing, specification and prices are currently unknown, through more information is predicted to announced over the next few months.

The new Focus RS is one of more 12 new performance vehicles due for international release by 2020, confirmed by Ford. It is likely to be part of the company’s plan to provide more cars, parts and accessories to more people and more quickly – through a new global Ford Performance Plan. As with its predecessors, the new Focus RS will provide a new path for the current focus.

WHAT ABOUT THE ENGINE?

All new Ford Focus RS rearviewThe engine details are not announced but as the Ford has confirmed that the RS will be powered by Ecoboost petrol engine. So rumours says, the RS could borrow 2.0 litre engine from Ford ST or 2.3 litre engine from new Mustang with maximum power output of around 300bhp.

The fuel economy is set to improve about 20% compare to its predecessor, and possibly even faster. Overall car body and engine weight should also be lighter than before, aiding performance and dynamic ability.

WHAT EQUIPMENTS COMES AS STANDARD?Ford Focus RS

The new Focus RS features a lowered chassis with firmer and sportier suspension. The spies photos giving idea about the styling of RS – that possibly gets two massive trapezoidal grilles, twin exhausts, 19 inch alloys wearing Michelin Pilot Super sport tyres and larger brakes.

Ford’s new performance team RS, Ford SV and Ford racing globally working together in an innovative laboratory and test-room to build some unique performance vehicles, accessories, parts to bring some new experience for Ford customers. To achieve, this Ford has already started working on new aerodynamics technology, light-weighting, electronics and fuel efficient powertrain.

The Vice President of Ford Global Product Development, Raj Nair says, “To earn the RS badge, the vehicles has to be no-compromise driver’s car that can deliver exceptional performance on the track when required while providing excellence every day driving.”

Ford philosophy says, the RS is all about the customer satisfaction and the new RS will be sold unchanged around the world boosting the same practicality, reliability and cutting costs.
