A radical Lexus LF-C2 roadster concept car revealed in LA

November 20, 2014

Lexus hasn’t had a great hand with convertibles, however the Lexus attempt to pay attention by its roofless new LF-C2 concept car has been revealed in LA motorshow yesterday.

Lexus is calling the LF-C2 concept an ‘open-top design study‘ designed to capture the key themes in a strong future style direction for Lexus.

Japanese firm says, “A 2+2 LF-C2 roadster concept has no roof or cabin as purely designed to offer the best driving experience for driver and passengers.”

LF-C2 mostly shares its styling with the RC Coupe, measures 1,840mm wide, 4,715mm length and 1,385mm height means it is 6mm wider, 21mm longer and 9mm lower than the standard RC. Features signature spindle grille and sharp LED headlights with pair of gaping air vents and set of bonnet creases. The quad chrome exhaust are the main highlights of the car. A set of massive 20 inch alloy wheels and its golden colour gives appealing look.

In golden yellow colour LF-C2 looks amazingly stylist and impressive. It has been gone through under different multi layered paint process including first primer coat followed by silver, a clear coat then a yellow to create a brilliant lustre.

Inside, the dashboard features a central screen controlled by a remote touchpad and LED lights that sit just under the window line and run the full length of the cabin. LED lights run along the inside window line and there is a white and grey leather surfaces that soft to touch. Overall the interior looks simple, modern and luxurious.

Lexus has not confirmed the LF-C2 production model will going to feature a rather large boot and roof. There is no any engine hit but we expect the car would feature the same 450bhp 5.0 litre V8 engine of the RC-F Coupe.

While introducing LF-C2 roadster concept to public, the Lexus US Group General Manager, Jeff Bracken said : “The concept shows the world’s consumer Lexus’s devotion to emotional designs and its passion for an exceptional driving experience.”

What do you think, would you like to prefer the car without roof or the roof-convertible such as RC-F coupe !!!
