2015 Geneva Motor Show Preview

 Geneva Motor Show 2015 is approaching!

The Geneva Motor Show is one of the biggest events in the global automotive industry. The world’s leading automotive makers unveil their new production and concept cars to the public.

Let’s see what cars you should expect at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show –

1.       Honda Civic Type R and NSX

Honda has confirmed the arrival of its newest Civic Type R, which will be seen at the Geneva Motor Show. Powered by a 2.0 litre VTEC engine with 276bhp (brake horse power) mated to a six-speed manual gearbox.New Acura NSX

At the same time, the new Honda NSX will make its European debut at Geneva. The car has already been seen at the Detroit Auto Show. It is the hybrid supercar will revive the NSX nameplate last seen in 2005.

2.       Vauxhall Viva

2015 Vauxhall VivaIt has been a long time since we’ve heard about the Vauxhall Viva and unfortunately it has been delayed until the summer. However the company still expect to draw a crowd at the Geneva Motor Show.

The Viva is expected to be priced from around £7,500 and the new city car will be powered by a 74bhp (brake horse power) 1.0 litre small engine borrowed from its sister car; the new Corsa.

3.       Skoda Superb

Skoda SuperbIn December, the Skoda Superb was spotted for the first time with a production body ahead of its launch at the Geneva Motor Show.

The company is very confident and described the new Superb as ‘the best Skoda yet’. Based on the VW Group’s MQB platform and boasting 625 litres of boot-space and extra leg room. The new Superb will be 75kg (kilograms) lighter than its predecessor. With a new design and improved build quality, it’s shaping up well.

The company has not released any official images of the new Superb, So Geneva may be the first time we will see the new Superb in all its glory.

4.       Renault Kadjar

Renault Kadjar teaser imageRenault has announced its Kadjar SUV will be revealed on the 2nd February ahead of its public debut at the Geneva Motor Show. It is expected to share platform architecture and many of the same power trains with the Qashqai with front and four-wheel drive options. It will be on sale at the end of the year.

5.       Mitsubishi SUV Concept

The Mitsubishi has recently revealed a few teaser images of a smaller hybrid SUV concept which is described as a ‘declaration of intent’ for the brand.

Based on the popular Outlander PHEV, the new smaller hybrid concept car will be powered by a plug-in hybrid power train along with a high-output electric motor. The name, specification and more images are yet to be revealed at the Geneva Motor Show.

6.       McLaren 675LT

McLaren 675LTThe new McLaren 675LT joins the existing 650S and 625C in the firm’s newly created super series which is described as the ‘lightest, quickest and purest’ model in the range.

Sitting below the P1 but above the 650S in the range, the coupe-only 675 will have 666bhp (brake horse power) when it comes to market later this year. There will be just 250 example products made.

7.       Lotus Evora

Lotus EvoraThis British brand is going to uncover a lighter and more powerful version of its ‘Evora’ sports car at the Geneva Motor Show.

We haven’t got many details about the new vehicle, however the company are saying that “the new model will remain true to its core pillars of lightness, performance and driving purity by embodying all of them in a most desirable package.”

8.       Volkswagen Golf GTD Estate

VW Golf GTD EstateThe Volkswagen is going launch its first Golf GTD Estate with powered by 184PS 2.0 litre diesel engine. It can get 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 7.9 seconds and offers an impressive fuel economy of 64.2mpg (miles per gallon).

Available to order from April for deliveries in June 2015. Pricing and specification details will be announced at the Geneva Motor Show.

9.       Ssangyong Tivoli

Ssangyong TivoliThe South Korean brand is coming up with its first crossover to be called “Tivoli” for the European market.

With a beautiful exterior design and an upmarket interior, the Tivoli has been designed with a youthful image for younger drivers. The Tivoli is set to show at the Geneva Motor Show in March before hitting showrooms in the summer.

10.   Kia Picanto

Kia PicantoRecently Kia has made a wide range of updates to its models including Rio, Venga and Cee’d along with the new Sportage and new Venga. The company has announced that they will unveil the updated Picanto range at the Geneva Motor Show.

With an updated tiger-nose grille, re-designed bumpers, new alloy wheels, interior changes and upgraded equipment features, the new Picanto will go on sale towards the end of the Geneva Motor Show.

12.   Lexus GS-F and LF-C2 Concept

2016 Lexus GS-FLexus is also coming up at Geneva Motor Show with its new GS-F which already been seen first at the Detroit Auto Show in January. It’s a four-door saloon premium car powered by 5.0 litre V8 engine. It is the first model to be equipped with the new and comprehensive Lexus Safety System.

Lexus LF C2The LF-C2 Concept will be shown alongside the GS-F, which also making its first European debut after LA Auto show. It’s 2+2 open-top roadster design car that will be part of a new styling direction for the brand.

13.   Suzuki iK-2 and iM-4 Concept

Suzuki is going to display two world-premier concept car at Geneva Motor Show including iK-2 and iM-4 Concept.Suzuki ik-2 Concept

The iK-2 is an ideal compact sized car developed with a theme of ‘Harmonised Force’. Designed with all the key elements expected in a car of size an values.

Suzuki iM-4 ConceptThe iM-4 Concept is an Mini 4*4 concept developed with a theme of ‘Shape of Inspiration’. It’s a new attempt from Suzuki, packed with its compact 4*4 DNA and new technologies. Further details would be announced at the Geneva Motor Show.
